Christmas Shopping

As I sit here drinking my wine spritzer (shut up, I know it's a gay drink), I decided I was compelled to tell you about my Christmas shopping ordeal today. I decided I should buy a Christmas present, and I went early to get it. I first went to a place called Metro, but they didn't have what I was looking for, so I then went to Wal-Mart, which doesn't open at 7:30am anymore. I mentioned the time it doesn't open anymore, because I got there early, around 7am, and went to McDonalds and had some of their wonderful breakfast food. After that, I went and waited for Wal-Mart to open. I thought it would be a 10 minute wait, as I left McDs at 7:20, however, unbeknownst to me, Wal-Mart now opens at 8am. Oh yah, did I mention it's snowing frogs and turtles? It was coming down like crazy outside. I thought that was kind of cool, until I took a closer look at the snow:

Brown snow?!? Wow. WTF is that?

After Wal-Mart finally opened, I went in and made my purchases; the present, which was in a box that was 1.5 meters long (that's 4' 11" for you Imperialists), a jar of peanut butter, a sprite, and a Christmas bow; then I went outside looking for a taxi. I'll tell you one thing, Friday morning at 8am when it's snowing frogs and turtles is not the time to be looking for a taxi. I decided to walk a little. That "little" turned into a 6.7 kilometers walk with the 1.5 meter long box, the bag full of the other stuff, and my backpack with my work computer, AC adapter, mouse, and a bottle of wine in it ... dog gamn I'm tired. The box wasn't heavy, but it sure was awkward. Combine that, the falling snow, the gusts of wind, and the already packed snow on the sidewalk, it made for an interesting walk ... I'm seriously surprised that I didn't fall on my ass.

Ok, so my Christmas shopping is done ... yah, I did it on Christmas day, who cares, it's done. On the other hand, for those of you reading this right now in the US, it's not Christmas in New York City for another 2 hours. Tongue

Oh yah, I have to share this, too, it's just way too cute and I have a way lame thing to say about it, too.

Have a Very Merry LinuXmas this Year!!!

Told it was lame Smile
