I just got China Mobile's Edge set up on my iPhone today and I wanted to try to send a picture to Twitpic from it. I was basically asking for advice on which beer to pick; horse piss pijiu, cat piss pijiu, or skunk piss pijiu (pijiu = 啤酒 = beer). I sent the email at 2:14pm according to the email system built into my phone. Well, it is now nearly 3:50 and the picture has yet to reach Twitpic. Makes me wonder, is there a review queue for email's sent through China Mobile's Edge data system? I can access Twitpic freely in China, no proxy needed, so why the delay and where's my f#cking picture?
UPDATE: Just emailed a picture from my iPhone, same app, same gmail account, emailed to same Twitpic address, only difference is this time I used WiFi instead of Edge ... the pic was on my Twitpic home page in about 2 minutes http://twitpic.com/f5c94
It appears, in the minimal testing I've done thus far, that China Mobile's Edge does not allow picture uploads to Twitpic.com. I'm going to try Flickr later.
UPDATE 2: Just went through the same process for Flickr and was delightfully surprised to see that my picture actually made it all the way to my Flickr page before I could walk the rest of the way home.
Your guess is as good as mine as to why my Twitpic pic didn't make it to it's final destination when using Edge.
UPDATE 3: Hmm, today emails to Twitpic are working. Color me wrong, stupid, impatient (nah, not impatient, my beer pic still hasn't made it to Twitpic), and/or less than scientific in my studies. Oh well, it happens to the best of us.
