Morning Walk - June 17, 2010

Is it lazy if you don't want to cook something because there's nothing in the house you want to eat? If it is, then call me lazy. This morning, after getting home from work and watching some Star Trek: Voyager (I am a sci-fi geek), I decided that I didn't want eggs or anything that had to do with eggs, I had no clue what any of the veggies in my fridge were, let alone how to cook them, was all out of peanut butter, and the meat was all frozen, so I walked to one of the, what seems like hundreds, of KFCs in Dalian. The walk was nothing special, but it did help me confirm that the P.o.S. ear bud headphones that came with my iPhone are dying at only 9 months old.

In other news, on Monday, I had an appointment to meet an officer from the US Consular's office in Shenyang in Dalian at around 5:30pm. I went with very little sleep Monday, about 3 to 4 hours, so I could make this meeting and showed up about a half hour early and I waited. I was still waiting at 6pm and the hotel staff had no idea that anyone from the Consular's office was even planning on being there. Later that night, I sent an email from work and got a reply the next day that the meeting had been rescheduled to the following Monday and they sent out an email a week or so ago ... which I didn't get ... thanks. So, now I get to do the whole thing over again this Monday ... that is struggle to go to sleep 3 hours earlier than I usually do, wake up 3 hours earlier than usual, and then stay awake for a 9 hour work shift, making my day last from 4pm Monday to at least 7am Tuesday. If I worked a day shift job, I don't think I'd have a problem doing it, but working at night and sleeping during the day is a whole different story, I've found that I feel about as rested after 8 hours of sleeping during the day as I do sleeping 3 or 4 hours at night. Oh well, this is the life I chose so I'll quit my belly-aching now ... just pissed that I'm having to do this 2 Monday's in a row.

Here's the map.
