Morning Walk - April 7, 2010

This morning, I went for a short walk to the 黑石礁 (hēi shí jiāo) beach. It was a nice little walk. The sun was shining, the air was pretty clean, and the temps were pretty mild. While I was walking, I listened to a couple of podcasts, How Stuff Works: Stuff You Missed in History Class and The Nerdist. I listened to three How Stuff Works podcasts, one was about Bar Kokhba, the man who led the Second Jewish Rebellion against the Romans in 2nd century Judea; the second was about the Pazzi Conspiracy against the Medici brothers in 15th century Italy; the last was about Savonarola, a fire and brimstone priest also from 15th century Italy. They were pretty interesting and it actually helped me put names to some stories I've heard before, but didn't know who the players were. The Nerdist podcast, hosted by Chris Hardwick, was funny, as always, and Hardwick interviewed Mike Shinoda, a member of my favorite band, Linkin Park. Anyway, back to the walk, it wasn't that long, but the sun was hitting the water and, since the tide was out, the overly exposed beach quite nicely which made for some decent pictures (for an iPhone) ... especially with the moderate fog that was hanging about 1 kilometer from the shoreline.

And here, as always, is a rough map of my walk.
