After watching Jon Lajoie's latest Youtube video, I wanted to see if his music was available through Baidu's MP3 search. Being at work, I have access to proxies from all over the world, so I first started with my Chinese proxy and I got six of his songs available for download, for free (and I imagine without his consent).

This is a screen cast I made a while back showing an easy way to install a video screen capture program for Ubuntu. I made this using a virtual installation of Ubuntu 8.04, but this will work for 8.10 and 9.04 as well.

When I first started using Ubuntu, about a year and a half ago, I was really impressed with the preloaded Brasero CD/DVD burning software. However, after some updates, it got kind of difficult and less user friendly, so I started searching for an alternative. What I found is a nice little software called K3b.

I just went through eight Twitter apps for Linux to determine which will be my new Twitter client, and I thought I'd share my thoughts of them with you.

I tried four native Linux apps that I obtained through Ubuntu's Add/Remove feature under the Applications menu, and another four for Adobe Air. I decided to do this because I realized that TweetDeck was a memory hog and, though I have two gigabytes of RAM, it would slow some of my other programs from time to time. Quick question about this whole Susan Boyle craze.

Have homo sapiens become so superficial and ignorant that we marvel when a less than attractive woman has a nice singing voice? What does a person’s outward appearance have to do with a person’s vocal chords, diaphragm, lung capacity, and hearing ability? I would be more impressed if a deaf person, with no education were able to do what she did … that would be overcoming something.
