Sick day
Called in sick today. Woke up and ... well, without going into details, I didn't feel well. I had planned on going in for at least half the night, but by that time, I was deeply entrenched in a movie (National Treasure 2) that had another hour in it and I didn't feel like putting it on hold. I wish I had considered what I would do for the three hours after the movie ended.
So, for the three hours after the movie ended, I ate, watched TV, ate some more, watched more TV, ate yet more, and fell asleep. Eating wasn't the best thing I could have done tonight considering why I'm ill, I guess I'll pay for that later, and the nap gave me a headache. But, I did get to watch both of the National Treasure movies and a couple of Star Trek TNG episodes (ok, I fell asleep during the second one -- it was the boring one with the mind readers who made Deanna thing she was raped by Riker, Riker think he killed someone by sealing them in a irradiated room, etc etc ... god, I need a life).
When I was ten, I could stay home from school and TV could keep my mind occupied enough not to try and eat everything in the house. Now, at 30, I find it's hard to ignore the food if I have nothing better than TV or the internet to do (one reason these posts are so far apart). I'm not concerned with gaining weight, yet, I only weigh a measly 145 pounds, but I am concerned with the junk I eat when I'm sick. Like today, I ate multiple chocolate cakes and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on top of the good stuff I forced myself to eat. Maybe I should just stop buying the junk. That's no fun though.
Anyway, I believe that, in the future, I will be going to work for at least half a night, from now on, no matter how sick I am. If for no other reason than to keep myself occupied.
