Google's logo, and the many variations that mark special occasions, are one aspect of the simple website, and the company, that I enjoy. As a person who spent a good portion of his youth drawing cartoons (I can still draw a pretty mean TMNT, I've often wondered how the "doodles" were done, whether it was on paper, then digitized, or all done digitally.
