In case you didn't see it, House Representative of the 6th District of Texas, Joe Barton, offered a personal apology to BP's CEO because his corporation is being forced to set up a $20 billion fund to pay for the damages caused by their Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico ... a spill that, mostly likely, could have been avoided if BP had been willing to install a safety device that would have cost them only $500,000, or just0.000076% of their 2010 Quarter 1 earnings.
Video starts 1 minute 35 seconds in.
Does the Congressman have a point? Is it disgraceful for the White House to make sure the inhabitants of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and possibly North and South Carolina (worst case scenario) are financially looked after by the company that's causing them to lose their way of life?
Or, should Congressman Barton issue another apology, this time to the hundred's of thousands who no longer have the ability to provide for themselves because a single corporation opted to cut costs and save 0.000076% of the profits they make in just 3 months?
