Travelocity Sucks - Part 2

If you read the first post I made in regards to my latest experience with Travelocity, you'll know that they have canceled my travel reservations because I didn't respond to an off business hour email within two hours (no, I'm not going to let that go). Now, let me fill you in on three other problems this is going to cause me.

Problem number 1: The credit card used for these reservations is a Chinese card and only has a limited US dollar amount that can be used on it. I used 80% of that amount to make these reservations and now have an insufficient amount to make another set of reservations until Travelocity and the credit card get squared away and the money is credited back to the account ... something I have been told can take as few as 5 days and as many as 30 days.

Problem number 2: I started planning my trip early because I wanted the lowest possible airfares I could find. Now, I might have to wait until May (the beginning of the tourist season for many) to make new travel reservations and may end up paying a lot more for my tickets. If this happens, I may not be able to go home and see my parents for the first time since August of 2007 without eating into my savings (something very few can do in this day and age of economic downturn).

Problem number 3: I have already requested time off from work based on these, now canceled reservations. I made the reservations on Tuesday at 12:30am EST, emailed the trip details to myself and my parents, then went to bed. When I went to work, I notified my direct supervisor and the ops manager that I made the reservations and I would use some of my leave at that time. Now, I may have to change those dates, reschedule my vacation days, and wait until my under-staffed department has another three week period with no one else on vacation.

I will be fair to Travelocity, a Joel Frey contacted me, via Twitter, after my first post went out and asked me for some information so he could try and help me. I provided the requested information, which he forwarded to their "Executive Offices" and my "file has been assigned to Executive Resolutions Coordinator, Betty Mangum." They are trying to make amends, but this has left a very sour taste in my mouth and that taste may just get more sour if things work out where I have to pay more to travel at later dates.
